Ardeen Road United Reformed Church, Doncaster, was formed in 2021 from the amalgamation of the URCs in Hall Gate and Intake. Unsurprisingly, we can be found on Ardeen Road!
We are part of the United Reformed Church (URC), a mainstream UK denomination with 1100 congregations and around 35,000 members. As a church, we are passionate about the forgiveness and new life Jesus offers us, and seek to worship God and follow Jesus in all that we do. We are within the Reformed tradition, which means that we trace our roots back to the reformation in the 16th century. Because of this, the highest authority for what we believe and do
is God’s Word in the Bible. We are united, as the URC was formed from the Congregational and Presbyterian churches coming together in 1972, but also because we long to work together with other Christians to share God’s love and good news with our community. You can find out more about the URC and what we believe here.
Our minister, Rev. Matt Stone, also serves the URC in Herringthorpe, Rotherham. Working alongside Matt is Val Morrison, our Church Secretary. We also have elders who serve alongside these people. Elders are central to the United Reformed Church’s life, they look after aspects of worship, property, safeguarding, mission and more! Find out how to get in touch with us here.
